General Sponsors
There are two general sponsors of ETJ, Language Teaching Professionals and Oxford University Press. Both sponsors provide nationwide support for ETJ and help make larger projects possible. Their support also makes it possible for ETJ to have no membership fee.
When ETJ was first set up, David English House was the only sponsor, but Oxford University Press became a sponsor a couple of years later and helped take ETJ to a new level, making it possible to have the Expos, and arranging for the Tokyo English Language Teaching Book Fair (TEL), which had been the main annual event for teachers in the Kanto area, to be amalgamated with the Tokyo ETJ Expo. Language Teaching Professionals has now taken over the role that David English House used to play.
Both general sponsors continue to play a key strategic role in the development of ETJ.
